For years, I’ve been building tailor-made tent constructions − from small to gigantic in size − for a tent supplier. And I became a bridge builder, literally, through my work for MeetMarcel. The size of the tent is of no importance to MeetMarcel, because they approach every assignment as ‘easy standard work’.
The question is always what nice extras will bring the tent structure to a level that exceeds the standard. For a project for one of their private clients, setting up the tent with the necessary surface area for large pond parties posed a problem. But the guys at MeetMarcel don’t like to hear the word ‘problem’ − they believe that it’s an opportunity to do something different. For this specific project, they placed 3 structures between the pond parties so the guests could move about ... and our job was to build bridges over the ponds and colourful flower beds.
At nightfall, the lighting was also adapted to the striking structures: light under water created depth, and light on the bridges enhanced the dynamics of a remarkable setting. Being a tent builder is sometimes a difficult job, with long days and difficult working conditions − but delivering such gems for such event architects makes you really understand the title ‘Dream Designer’.
